- 1 stick butter (only)
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 5 large eggs
- 3 c. sugar
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. rum extract
- 1 tsp. butter and nut extract
- 1 c. red maraschino cherries, leave them whole
- 1 c. green maraschino cherries, leave them whole
- 1 c. flaked coconut
- 1 c. black walnuts or pecans
Method
- Cream the butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add the eggs and beat 10 minutes.
- Be sure to time and beat 10 minutes.
- Add other ingredients.
- Fold in nuts, cherries and coconut.
- Bake in Bundt pan at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
- Do not open the oven door for 1 hour.
