Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 12 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup nuts, chopped
Method
- Sift flour once, measure, add soda and salt.
- Sift again.
- Cream shortening, adding sugars gradually.
- Cream until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and mix thoroughly.
- Add flour in two parts and mix well.
- Add chocolate chips, vanilla, and nuts.
- Mix well.
- Drop from a teaspoon on an ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
