Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. light molasses
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 tsp. vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 tsp. soda
Method
- Butter sides of 2-quart kettle.
- Add first 3 ingredients.
- Heat slowly to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Add vinegar (white).
- Cook to light crack stage, 268°.
- Remove from heat.
- Add butter and sift in soda.
- Stir to mix.
- Turn out on buttered plate (do not scrape). Turn edges to center.
- With buttered fingers, pull as warm as you can handle.
- Cut in quarters.
- Pull and clip with shears.
- Wrap in wax paper.
