Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 3/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. pecan halves
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 c. powdered sugar

Method

  • In 3-quart microwavable bowl, stir first 5 ingredients. Cover and vent.
  • Microwave on high for 8 minutes, stirring after 4 minutes.
  • Stir in pecans and vanilla.
  • Cook on high, covered, for 2 minutes.
  • Stir in powdered sugar until thick and not glossy. Quickly drop by spoonfuls onto buttered waxed paper.
  • If mixture becomes thick, stir in a few drops of hot water.
  • Makes 20.
