Ingredients

  • 1 c. flour
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. cocoa
  • 1 3/4 to 2 c. boiling water

Method

  • Mix first 5 ingredients in 9 x 9 x 2-inch dish.
  • Add milk, oil, vanilla and nuts.
  • Mix to make batter.
  • Sprinkle over this the brown sugar and cocoa combined.
  • Gently pour boiling water over the top.
  • Microwave for 8 to 10 minutes (High), turning dish after 4 minutes.
  • Chocolate syrup will go to the bottom.
  • Serve with ice cream and spoon sauce over ice cream.
