Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 c. white corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 qt. popped corn

Method

  • Combine margarine, sugar, corn syrup and salt in large (2-quart) bowl.
  • Microwave on High until mixture begins to boil. Cook for 4 minutes, stirring 3 times.
  • Add baking soda and vanilla; stir.
  • Put the popped corn in unrecycled grocery sack. Pour mixture over corn and stir.
  • Cook for 1 1/2 minutes in microwave; shake sack hard.
  • Cook for 15 seconds.
  • Nuts may be added in the last 15 seconds.
