Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. light corn syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 qt. (16 c.) popped popcorn
  • 1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Method

  • Place popped corn in a large grocery bag.
  • Combine oleo, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt in a large glass pitcher.
  • Bring to boil on Full Power.
  • Boil 2 minutes.
  • Stir in baking soda.
  • Pour syrup over popcorn in bag.
  • Close bag and shake vigorously.
  • Place bag in microwave.
  • Cook on High for 1 1/2 minutes.
  • Remove and shake again.
  • Return to oven for 1 1/2 minutes.
  • Remove and shake again.
  • Return to oven for 1 minute.
  • Remove and pour on cookie sheet.
  • Let cool.
