Ingredients

  • 4 c. sliced and peeled apples
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. oats
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg

Method

  • Place apples in a 1-quart casserole dish and sprinkle lemon juice over the apples.
  • Microwave apples and lemon juice on High until apples are tender and crisp, about 2 1/2 to 4 minutes.
  • Set apples aside.
  • Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl and microwave on High until bubbly, about 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes. Stir after half of cooking time.
  • Spread the ingredients over the apples and place back in the microwave.
  • Cook on High until apples are tender and the ingredients on top of apples are bubbly, about 4 to 6 minutes.
  • Makes 6 servings.
