Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger meat
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 small can diced green chilies
  • 1 can Ro-Tel or 1 to 1 1/2 c. other salsa
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • tortilla chips
  • grated Cheddar cheese

Method

  • In skillet, brown meat.
  • Drain and crumble.
  • Add onion, soup (not water), green chilies and Ro-Tel or salsa.
  • Heat thoroughly and simmer.
  • In 9 x 13-inch pan, place layer of tortilla chips and cheese.
  • Pour meat filling mixture over chips and cheese.
  • Place another layer of chips; top with grated cheese.
  • Bake at 400° until cheese melts on top.
  • Serve with side dish of corn, beans, etc.
