Ingredients

  • hot pepper to taste
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 8 oz. grated American cheese
  • 1 c. corn meal
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 or 2 cans creamed corn

Method

  • Brown beef and onion in skillet.
  • Drain.
  • Sift meal, salt and soda.
  • Combine beaten eggs, milk, oil and corn; mix well.
  • Pour half of this in pan, then put meat over this, then put grated cheese and cover with other half of mixture and bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
