Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 to 1 3/4 lbs ground sirloin
  • 1 medium onion, chunked
  • 2 ribs of celery heart, cut into 2" pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 large egg plus splash of milk, beaten
  • 1 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 2 T grill seasoning
  • 1 cup smoky barbeque sauce
  • 1/2 cup tomato salsa
  • 1 T Worchestershire sauce
  • Vegetable oil or Extra Virgin Olive oil

Method

  • Preheat oven to 450
  • Place sirloin in big bowl
  • Put onion and celery into food processor. Remove seeds from pepper, cut up and then add to processor. Pulse blades to finely chop vegetables.
  • Add to meat bowl
  • Add egg beaten with milk, bread crumbs and grill seasoning to meat bowl.
  • Mix barbeque sauce, salsa and Worchestershire sauce. Pour half of sauce mixture into the bowl. Mix with hands
  • Brush 12 muffin pan with oil.
  • Fill each with meat mixture. Top with a spoonful of remaining sauce.
  • Bake about 20 minutes. (cut open 1 muffin to test that the middle is cooked through)
