Ingredients

  • 2 c. rice (uncooked)
  • 2 extra large potatoes, grated
  • 1 large onion, chopped and sauteed
  • 1 large head cabbage
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Cook rice until soft.
  • Add grated potatoes and onion to rice. Mix well.
  • Parboil cabbage head.
  • Let steam until soft enough to work with.
  • Cut out core and separate leaves.
  • Put rice mixture in cabbage leaf.
  • Roll up tucking in ends as you roll.
  • Place in shallow pot or Dutch oven.
  • Cover with any leftover leaves.
  • Add tomato sauce or tomato soup.
  • Cook on medium heat about 1 hour or more until cabbage is done.
