Ingredients

  • 1 large head cabbage
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 c. cooked rice
  • 2 small pieces garlic
  • 1 can sauerkraut
  • 1 can tomato soup

Method

  • Dip cabbage leaves in hot water until wilted; drain.
  • Combine meat, salt, pepper, rice and garlic; mix well.
  • Place 2 tablespoons of meat mixture in each cabbage leaf.
  • Roll leaf around meat and fasten with toothpick.
  • Place sauerkraut in bottom of pan.
  • Lay rolls on top.
  • Pour tomato soup and tomato paste over all.
  • Add enough water to cover.
  • Cook slowly for 1 hour at 350°.
