Ingredients

  • Salad:
  • 1/2 head romaine lettuce
  • 1/2 head iceberg lettuce
  • 1 small can drained mandarin oranges
  • 1/2 cup scallions tops & bottoms
  • 1 cup celery (optional)
  • Dressing:
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 Tbsp. white wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 dashes Tabasco sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley

Method

  • Chop Lettuces.
  • In silver stone pan heap 3 Tbsp. sugar. Add 1 cup sliced almonds. Stir together until coated and sugar has carmelized then remove pan from heat .This only takes a few minutes, do not stop stirring or it will burn.Place almonds on aluminum foil to cool.
