Ingredients
- 3 c. sugar
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1/2 c. Crisco (solid)
- 6 eggs
- 1 1/8 c. milk
- 3 c. cake flour, sifted
- 1/2 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
Method
- Cream butter, Crisco and sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, then flavoring to flour.
- Add cocoa and salt.
- Add the flour mixture gradually, alternately with milk.
- Pour batter into tube cake pan (which has been greased and dusted with flour).
- Bake at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
