Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef King Sooper's 1 lb For $3.99 thru 02/09
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 fl oz / 798 mL) ground tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 2 1/4 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1/3 cup each: butter and flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup Kraft 100% Parmesan Grated Cheese

Method

  • Brown ground beef and garlic in large frypan over medium heat.
  • Stir in ground tomatoes, tomato paste and oregano.
  • Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Cook pasta according to package directions.
  • Drain and rinse in cold water.
  • Set aside.
  • Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add flour, cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Whisk in milk.
  • Add bay leaf, reduce heat to low and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and discard bay leaf.
  • Whisk eggs in medium size bowl.
  • Slowly add hot sauce to eggs, whisking constantly.
  • Layer half the pasta, sauce and cheese in a greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
  • Add all of the meat mixture, and another layer pasta, sauce and cheese.
  • Bake at 350F for 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
