Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. ground beef King Sooper's 1 lb For $3.99 thru 02/09
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 fl oz / 798 mL) ground tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- 2 1/4 cups elbow macaroni
- 1/3 cup each: butter and flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup Kraft 100% Parmesan Grated Cheese
Method
- Brown ground beef and garlic in large frypan over medium heat.
- Stir in ground tomatoes, tomato paste and oregano.
- Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
- Cook pasta according to package directions.
- Drain and rinse in cold water.
- Set aside.
- Melt butter in large saucepan over medium heat.
- Add flour, cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Whisk in milk.
- Add bay leaf, reduce heat to low and cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and discard bay leaf.
- Whisk eggs in medium size bowl.
- Slowly add hot sauce to eggs, whisking constantly.
- Layer half the pasta, sauce and cheese in a greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
- Add all of the meat mixture, and another layer pasta, sauce and cheese.
- Bake at 350F for 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
