Ingredients
- 1 lb. box casserole size elbow macaroni
- 1/2 lb. Colby cheese
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 2 slices toasted whole wheat bread
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. diced onion (optional)
- 1 lb. can tomatoes
Method
- Boil macaroni and drain.
- Add milk, butter, salt, pepper and onion.
- Add cheese, but reserve a little for the top.
- Be sure to stir occasionally as cheese melts.
- Add toasted bread that has been broken into bite size pieces.
- Add tomatoes and stir gently. Sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake at 350° to 375° for 30 to 35 minutes.
