Ingredients

  • 12 oz. pkg. Mueller's elbows
  • 12 oz. pkg. Kraft sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 6 c. boiling water
  • 8 oz. pkg. sour cream (optional)
  • pinch of black pepper

Method

  • Boil water, add 1 teaspoon salt.
  • Add elbows.
  • Cook 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Remove from stove.
  • Drain water.
  • Place in 9 x 12-inch baking dish.
  • Stir in butter.
  • Cut cheese into small cubes and add to macaroni.
  • Add milk and stir.
  • Add sour cream, if desired. Place in oven at 425° for 10 minutes.
  • Take out and stir. Sprinkle pepper on top and place back in oven for 15 to 25 minutes.
  • Serves 6 to 8.
