Ingredients
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
- 2 c. grated sharp cheese
Method
- Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain and place in a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.
- Melt butter; stir in flour and blend well.
- Gradually add milk and cook over medium heat until thick.
- Add salt, pepper and 1 1/2 cups of cheese, stirring to melt cheese.
- Gently mix sauce with macaroni. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup of cheese.
- Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes.
- Serves 6.
