Ingredients

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 family size can baked beans
  • 1/2 c. catsup or more if desired
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 lemon, sliced thin
  • 1 small can cubed pineapple
  • 1/2 c. cubed ham (optional)
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • brown sugar to taste

Method

  • Lightly saute thinly sliced onion until limp, not brown.
  • Add catsup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, ginger, salt, pepper and half of the juice from the can of pineapple.
  • Simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add baked beans, thinly sliced lemon, pineapple cubes and ham. Add sugar. Allow to simmer about 1/2 hour, stirring occasionally.
