Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage
  • 3 to 4 medium carrots
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large sweet pepper
  • 3 white potatoes or 4 mini ears corn
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil or fat-skimmed ham water
  • 1/4 tsp. sugar or 1/2 pkg. Equal
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. dry parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. dry rosemary or marjoram
  • 1 1/2 c. water

Method

  • Rinse and cut cabbage into 2-inch strips.
  • Immerse in water while preparing other veggies.
  • Scrape carrots.
  • Cut into 2-inch diagonals.
  • Remove seeds from pepper.
  • Cut into 1/4-inch strips. If potatoes are used, peel and slice into 1/2-inch thick slices.
