Ingredients

  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. cornbread mix
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 onion, cut in chunks
  • 1/2 green pepper, cut in chunks
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz.) can Cajun stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

Method

  • Prepare cornbread as directed on package; cut in 6 pieces. In skillet, brown meat with onions, green pepper and garlic; drain.
  • Stir in tomatoes and tomato sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper, if desired.
  • Simmer 15 minutes.
  • Serve over cornbread. Serves 6.
