- 1 stick oleo
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 c. plain flour
- 3 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. milk
- 1/2 c. red wine (Red Rose Port wine)
- 1 lb. pecans, chopped
- 1 lb. candied pineapple
- 1 lb. candied cherries
- 1 lb. dates
Method
- Cream oleo and sugar.
- Add eggs and add liquids and sifted ingredients alternately.
- Use part of flour to dredge chopped fruits and nuts.
- Drop on greased cookie sheets and bake in 325° oven for 20 minutes.
- Makes 16 dozen.
- Excellent cookies at Christmastime.
