Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast (RapidRise)
- 2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. (approximately) dark Karo syrup
- 1/2 c. (little less) vegetable oil
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. rye flour
- 1 1/2 c. wheat flour
- 4 c. (approximately) white flour
Method
- Mix all dry ingredients except 2 cups of the white flour. Heat milk, syrup and vegetable oil (follow directions on yeast package). Add to flour mixture, then add the egg.
- Add the remaining flour until consistency is right.
- Let rise until doubled.
- Knead and form into loaves.
- Let rise again in bread pans, approximately 20 minutes. Bake at 425° for 20 to 25 minutes.
