Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, chopped fine
  • 3 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 c. wheat germ
  • 2 c. cooked, drained lentils
  • 1/2 c. whole wheat bread crumbs
  • 1/2 c. sunflower seeds or walnut pieces
  • 1/2 tsp. sage or thyme
  • 2 Tbsp. brewers yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. soy flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • sesame seeds

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Saute onion in oil until soft.
  • Mix ingredients and place in large, greased loaf pan.
  • Sprinkle generously with sesame seed.
  • Baked for 30 minutes, covered with aluminum foil or a cookie sheets, and then for 10 minutes, uncovered.
  • Serve with cashew gravy or your favorite gravy.
