Ingredients
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 tsp. lemon juice
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. finely shredded lemon peel
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. lemon juice
Method
- Stir together the milk and 2 teaspoons lemon juice; set aside. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In a large mixer bowl, beat butter until softened.
- Add 3/4 cup sugar; beat until fluffy.
- Add egg and lemon peel; beat well.
- Add flour mixture alternately, beating until well mixed.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake in a 350° oven for 12 to 14 minutes, or until well done.
