Ingredients

  • 3 pt. fruit, cooked
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1 c. sugar (for batter)

Method

  • Cook the fruit (peaches, blackberries or cherries) and sweeten with the 1 cup sugar.
  • If using canned, sweetened fruit, omit sugar.
  • Prepare batter by mixing together the dry ingredients and milk with the additional cup of sugar.
  • Melt the butter in 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Add fruit to pan, then drip batter over hot fruit. Bake for about 45 minutes at 350°.
