Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1 Tbsp. basil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 2 (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 3 to 4 c. cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles or wide noodles

Method

  • Brown meat; drain well, then add next 6 ingredients.
  • Simmer, uncovered, until thick, 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Cook noodles in boiling salted water until tender; rinse in cold water.
  • Combine cottage cheese with next 4 ingredients.
  • Place half the noodles in 13 x 9-inch baking dish. Spread half the cottage cheese mixture over; add half meat mixture.
  • Repeat layers.
  • Bake in moderate oven at 375° for 30 minutes.
  • Let stand 10 to 15 minutes.
