Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. lasagna noodles
  • 3 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 4 sprigs parsley (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb. Ricotta cheese
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Method

  • Sauce:
  • Brown meat in oil.
  • Add diced onion, tomato paste, water, parsley, salt, pepper and bay leaves.
  • Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
  • Arrange in large baking dish in layers as follows:
  • sauce, noodles, Ricotta and Mozzarella cheese.
  • Sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake at 375° for about 20 minutes, or until cheese on top is melted.
