- 3/4 lb. lasagna noodles
- 3 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 1 medium onion
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 4 sprigs parsley (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1 lb. Ricotta cheese
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Method
- Sauce:
- Brown meat in oil.
- Add diced onion, tomato paste, water, parsley, salt, pepper and bay leaves.
- Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
- Arrange in large baking dish in layers as follows:
- sauce, noodles, Ricotta and Mozzarella cheese.
- Sprinkle top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake at 375° for about 20 minutes, or until cheese on top is melted.
