Ingredients

  • 1 lb box Elbow Macaroni
  • 1 lb block Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 lb block Mozerella Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Butter or Margarine
  • 1 pints Heavy Cream
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 tbsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 1/2 cup Italian Style Bread Crumbs
  • 6 cup Water

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Bring water & Garlic to roling boil.
  • Add Macaroni.
  • Continue to boil until tender.
  • Drain & rinse in cool water.
  • Cut cheeses into 1" cubes, but keep separate.
  • Using 2 Tbls Butter, lightly grease casserole dish.
  • Place one layer of Cheddar Cheese on bottom.
  • Add one layer of Macaroni on top of Cheddar cheese.
  • Note: Cheddar should be slightly visible.
  • Add layer of Mozzarella Cheese, then Macaroni, followed by another layer of Cheddar.
  • Continue in this manner until Macaroni is gone.
  • (you should have left over cheese)
  • Top with remaining cheeses.
  • Blend Heavy Cream and 2 Eggs.
  • Pour evenly over Macaroni.
  • Dollop remaining Butter on top.
  • Bake for half an hour, and stir.
  • Sprinkle Bread Crumbs evenly on top and continue baking for 45 minutes.
  • Allow to rest 15 minutes before serving.
  • For a tasty variation, cut the florets of 2 Broccoli Crowns into small pieces & add to each cheese layer.
