- 1 lb box Elbow Macaroni
- 1 lb block Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- 1 lb block Mozerella Cheese
- 1/4 cup Butter or Margarine
- 1 pints Heavy Cream
- 2 large Eggs
- 2 tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 tbsp Kosher Salt
- 1 1/2 cup Italian Style Bread Crumbs
- 6 cup Water
Method
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Bring water & Garlic to roling boil.
- Add Macaroni.
- Continue to boil until tender.
- Drain & rinse in cool water.
- Cut cheeses into 1" cubes, but keep separate.
- Using 2 Tbls Butter, lightly grease casserole dish.
- Place one layer of Cheddar Cheese on bottom.
- Add one layer of Macaroni on top of Cheddar cheese.
- Note: Cheddar should be slightly visible.
- Add layer of Mozzarella Cheese, then Macaroni, followed by another layer of Cheddar.
- Continue in this manner until Macaroni is gone.
- (you should have left over cheese)
- Top with remaining cheeses.
- Blend Heavy Cream and 2 Eggs.
- Pour evenly over Macaroni.
- Dollop remaining Butter on top.
- Bake for half an hour, and stir.
- Sprinkle Bread Crumbs evenly on top and continue baking for 45 minutes.
- Allow to rest 15 minutes before serving.
- For a tasty variation, cut the florets of 2 Broccoli Crowns into small pieces & add to each cheese layer.
