Ingredients

  • 12 egg yolks
  • 2 lb. lard
  • 1 large cake yeast
  • 5 Tbsp. water
  • 2 c. milk
  • pinch of salt
  • flour

Method

  • Combine water and yeast. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Add enough flour to make a soft dough.
  • Knead until dough is smooth or until dough works clean from hands. Wrap in towel and put in cold water.
  • Let stand 5 minutes.
  • Sprinkle board with powdered sugar and roll out dough. Cut into squares and fill with favorite filling.
