- 2 large onions, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 1 c. tomato paste
- 2 (4 oz.) cans sliced mushrooms
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, diced
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. noodles
Method
- Cook onions in butter or margarine in large skillet until soft; add ground beef and brown.
- Drain off grease.
- Stir in tomato paste, mushrooms, 2 cups water, celery, green pepper, vinegar, salt, pepper and cheese.
- Simmer 15 minutes.
- Cook noodles according to package directions.
- Drain and mix with sauce.
- Turn into baking dish.
- Bake covered at 350° for 1 hour. Serves 6 to 8.
