Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. tomato paste
  • 2 (4 oz.) cans sliced mushrooms
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, diced
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. noodles

Method

  • Cook onions in butter or margarine in large skillet until soft; add ground beef and brown.
  • Drain off grease.
  • Stir in tomato paste, mushrooms, 2 cups water, celery, green pepper, vinegar, salt, pepper and cheese.
  • Simmer 15 minutes.
  • Cook noodles according to package directions.
  • Drain and mix with sauce.
  • Turn into baking dish.
  • Bake covered at 350° for 1 hour. Serves 6 to 8.
