Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 (9 oz.) box Jiffy white cake mix
  • 2 pkg. quick-rise yeast
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. warm water (120~ to 130~)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. cinnamon

Method

  • In a large mixing bowl combine 3 cups of the flour, cake mix, yeast, salt and warm water.
  • Mix until smooth.
  • Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  • Turn out onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Knead until smooth, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  • Roll dough into a 9 x 18-inch rectangle.
  • Spread with butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll dough jelly-roll style, starting with the long end.
  • Slice the roll into 1-inch circles. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 350° for 15 to 18 minutes.
  • Brush with butter. Yields 18 to 29 rolls.
