Ingredients

  • FOR THE CAKE:
  • 1/2 cups Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3 whole Eggs, Well Beaten
  • 1 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoons Salt

  • FOR THE TOPPING:
  • 3/4 cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter, Softened
  • 2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cups Chopped Nuts (optional)

Method

  • For cake:
  • Preheat oven to 325 F. Cream butter, add sugar and beaten eggs. Add sour cream and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients and add to the creamed mixture. Mix well.
  • For topping:
  • Mix topping ingredients together in a smaller bowl and set aside.
  • Grease and flour an angel food tube cake pan. Layer half of cake batter in pan. Top with 3/4 of the topping. Layer with the rest of the batter and sprinkle on the rest of the topping.
  • Bake at 325 degrees (F) for 45-50 minutes.
