Ingredients

  • 1 c. candied fruit mix
  • 1/4 c. any kind jelly or preserves
  • 1 c. chopped pecans
  • 2/3 c. melted butter
  • 1 1/3 c. brown sugar
  • 1 large box raisins, stewed
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • approximately 2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cake spice
  • pecan halves
  • red cherries
  • green cherries

Method

  • Soak fruit with jelly overnight.
  • Add 2 beaten eggs, pecans, sugar, raisins and butter to fruit and jelly mixture.
  • Separately sift together dry ingredients, mixing well.
  • Then add to fruit mixtures.
  • If necessary, add more flour to desired consistency.
