Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 c. diced onion
  • 1 c. sliced celery
  • 1 c. sliced carrots
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 2 c. water
  • 5 tsp. beef bouillon
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. sweet basil
  • 2 c. shredded cabbage
  • 1 c. green beans
  • 1/2 c. elbow macaroni
  • Parmesan cheese

Method

  • In big pot, brown hamburger; drain.
  • Add all the ingredients, except cabbage, green beans and macaroni; cook 20 minutes.
  • Add cabbage, beans and macaroni and simmer until all vegetables are tender.
  • You may add additional water for a thinner soup. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
