- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 3/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 can (1 lb.) tomatoes, chopped
- 1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1 12 oz. pkg. spaghetti
- Parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 tsp. sugar
Method
- Heat oil in heavy skillet.
- Add onion, green pepper and garlic and cook until onion is lightly browned.
- Add meat and brown.
- Then add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings.
- Cover and simmer slowly 1 1/2 - 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
- Serve with Parmesan cheese.
