- 1/2 c. onion
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (3 oz.) can mushrooms
- 1/4 c. parsley
- 1 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. monosodium glutamate
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 c. water
- cheese as needed
Method
- In a large
- skillet, cook onion in hot oil until almost tender.
- Add
- meat and
- garlic; brown lightly.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Simmer, uncovered,
- to
- 2 1/2 hours or until sauce is nice and thick.
- Stir occasionally.
- Remove bay leaf.
