Ingredients

  • 6 sheets filo dough eac cut into a 5 inch squares
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 1/2 ounces ham shaved, roughly chopped
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 1/2 ounces cheddar cheese grated
  • fresh chives to serve
  • chili sauce to serve
  • salad to serve

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 6 - 4 inch tart pans and line with filo dough. Place on a baking tray and bake for 3-5 mins, until golden brown.
  • Meanwhile, heat a small frying pan over high heat. Lightly coat with oil and saute onion for 2-4 mins, until just soft. Add ham and cook for 2 mins. Let cool slightly then distribute between tart shells. Whisk together evaporated milk, eggs and mustard. Season. Distribute between tart shells and sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 30-35 mins, until firm.
  • Top with fresh chives and serve with chili sauce and salad on the side.
