Ingredients
- 1 c. cornmeal
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 small to medium onion, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. milk
Method
- Mix together the dry ingredients and the onion.
- Break in the egg and beat vigorously.
- Add the milk; stir together.
- Make small round cakes, 2 inches in diameter.
- Poke a hole in the center with finger, a doughnut.
- Slide into deep fat in which fish has been fried, until they are deep brown.
- Serve hot and at once.
- Serves 3 to 4.
