Ingredients

  • 1 c. cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. flour (all-purpose)
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. milk

Method

  • Sift meal, flour, baking powder, salt and garlic salt together in bowl.
  • Beat egg; add egg and milk to meal mix and stir until well mixed.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes; add more milk if needed (mixture should be thin enough to drop from spoon).
  • Drop by small spoonfuls in hot corn oil at 375°.
  • Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  • Makes 4 servings.
