Ingredients

  • 3/4 stick butter or margarine
  • 4 tsp. curry powder
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 (No. 2 1/2) can peach halves
  • 1 (No. 2 1/2) can pear halves, drained
  • 1 (No. 2 1/2) can Bing cherries, drained
  • 1 (No. 2 1/2) can pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 c. blanched almonds
  • 1 bottle maraschino cherries

Method

  • Put butter, curry powder and brown sugar in a saucepan.
  • Melt to a syrup.
  • Arrange half the fruit in the bottom of an ovenproof casserole dish.
  • Pour in half the almonds and half the syrup. Arrange the rest of the fruit on top and add remaining syrup and almonds.
  • Garnish the top with the maraschino cherries.
  • Bake in a 350° oven for 35 minutes.
  • Can be assembled the day before.
  • Ready to be heated anytime.
  • Serves 10 to 12.
