Ingredients

  • 1 qt. milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Place milk in 2-quart casserole.
  • Heat on full power for 9 to 11 minutes or until heated through and temperature of 190°F is reached.
  • Stir halfway through heating time.
  • Beat egg yolks with sugar and spices in small bowl.
  • Stir one cup of hot milk into egg mixture, then gradually blend all of egg mixture into milk.
  • Heat on full power for 2 or 3 1/2 minutes or until warmed.
  • Stir halfway through heating time.
  • Stir in vanilla.
