Ingredients

  • 5 to 8 Cherry tomatoes
  • 400 ml Boiled and cooled water
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Yeast solution, if available

Method

  • Sterilize the jar with boiling water.
  • Cut the tomatoes and put them in the jar, and add enough water that was boiled then cooled to cover.
  • Add sugar and yeast solution if you have any, and leave the jar in a warm place.
  • It will ferment in about 2 days in the summer.
  • It's done if it foams when you open the lid and shake the jar.
  • It will smell like tomato alcohol.
  • Open the lid once a day and shake the jar until the starter has developed.
  • Store as is in the refrigerator.
  • You can strain the liquid when you use it, or strain and store the liquid.
  • When 1/2 the liquid remains, add as much boiled and cooled water as the starter you used up with 1 teaspoon of sugar, and store.
