Ingredients
- pinecones
- beeswax or paraffin wax, cut into cubes
- paraffin wax, dye (optional)
- floral foam
Method
- Cover your work surface with several layers of newspaper and top with a layer of waxed paper.
- In a bowl which has been placed over a saucepan of hot water, melt the wax.
- Stir in dye if using.
- With tongs, dip each pinecone into the wax and allow the excess to drip back into the bowl.
- Transfer the wax-coated pinecone to the waxed paper and allow to dry.
- Repeat this process 3 or 4 times.
- With a knife, cut the foam to fit the bottom two-thirds of the bucket and glue into place.
- Glue the sheet moss over the foam.
- Fill the bucket with pinecones.
- Push twigs and branches into the foam.
