Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
- 3/4 to 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped dates
- 1 c. nuts
Method
- In a 13 x 9-inch pan, put brown sugar and water and let come to a boil.
- Mix sugar, flour, milk, baking powder, salt and vanilla, then add dates and nuts.
- The trick is to add pudding to hot syrup without disturbing syrup much.
- Spoon evenly into syrup.
- Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.
- May need to adjust time if oven is not accurate.
