Ingredients
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 8 plain Hershey candy bars
- 5 1/2 oz. Hershey's syrup
- 2 sticks oleo
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 well beaten eggs
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Method
- Mix the soda and buttermilk; let stand while mixing candy. Melt the candy bars and syrup over low flame or in microwave. Cream together the oleo and sugar.
- Add eggs and Hershey mixture to creamed oleo-sugar mixture.
- Sift the flour; add alternately with buttermilk.
- Add the vanilla and chopped nuts.
- Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 350° in a tube pan.
- Let cool for a while, then turn out of pan and cover while warm.
