Ingredients
- 1 c. uncooked long-grain rice
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1/4 c. butter
- 2 1/2 c. water
- 1 (2 to 2 1/2 oz.) pkg. dry chicken noodle soup mix
- 2 Tbsp. parsley
- 1/2 tsp. thyme
- 1/4 tsp. sage
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
Method
- In large skillet, cook the rice, celery and onion in butter; stir constantly until rice browned.
- Stir in remaining ingredients; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let stand.
- Cover for 10 minutes.
