Ingredients

  • 1 c. uncooked long-grain rice
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 3/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 1 (2 to 2 1/2 oz.) pkg. dry chicken noodle soup mix
  • 2 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. sage
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Method

  • In large skillet, cook the rice, celery and onion in butter; stir constantly until rice browned.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients; bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and let stand.
  • Cover for 10 minutes.
