Ingredients

  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
  • 6 to 8 Heath bars, crushed coarsely
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Method

  • Mix flour, sugars and margarine until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 1/2 cup for topping.
  • Add remaining ingredients to dry mixture and beat until smooth.
  • Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Sprinkle dry mixture, chopped candy and nuts over top.
  • Bake in a 350° oven for about 30 minutes or until top springs back when touched.
