Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 6 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 tsp. basil
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 2 lb. potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper

Method

  • In a small bowl combine seasonings.
  • Place 2 tablespoons in a nonstick skillet.
  • Arrange a third of the potato slices in a circular pattern in skillet.
  • Sprinkle about 1/4 of the seasonings, 4 tablespoons butter and 2 teaspoons onion.
  • Repeat layers twice. Cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes.
  • Invert onto serving platter to unmold potatoes.
  • Serves 6 to 8.
